“DESERTLAND”— creative direction for a full length studio album.
Overview
Antioch Music is a collective of worship leaders and musicians affiliated with Antioch Waco in Waco, TX, along with its global movement. For over 20 years, they have produced a variety of projects, including celebrated live albums such as It Is Finished, which reached the top of the iTunes Christian & Gospel charts, and acoustic recordings like Unchanging and The Underground Sessions. Throughout their journey, one constant remains: their unwavering love for Jesus, expressed through sincere and passionate worship.
“DESERTLAND” is Antioch Music’s first full-length studio album.
I was responsible for the creative direction, project management, and digital strategy for this campaign.
Approach
In 2021, Antioch Music produced its first full-length studio album, including two singles: “The Joy of Surrender” and “Shadow of Your Wings.” In addition to the songs, the music group wanted to pair them with an equally beautiful visual campaign.
How do we create a fully immersive, integrated visual experience beyond just a quickly designed album cover?
This question took our team on a journey to the desert landscape you will see below in an effort to justly capture the essence of the lyrics and the heart behind the album in a real, authentic way. Our goal was scale, isolation, beauty, wilderness, and light—desertland.

Results
A fully immersive campaign from beginning to end: album cover art, Spotify canvas videos, geo-targeted ads and community engagement, and a social media campaign in a coordinated marketing effort to reinforce and assist the music group's full-length album.
